## Caveats

- Service offline (checked live 2026-09-29): runkit.com, runkit.io, embed.runkit.com and tonicdev.com all return HTTP 503 from the AWS load balancer, the runkit.com TLS certificate expired 2026-01-18, and discuss.runkit.com/status.runkit.com do not answer. Wayback shows the last HTTP 200 of runkit.com/home on 2025-10-14 and 503 from 2026-01-12 onward. No official shutdown notice was found; blog.runkit.com last post is 2018-12-10 and the runkitdev GitHub org was last pushed 2023-12. RunKit (ex-Tonic, YC S16) was acquired by Stripe. It never published a paid tariff: it was a free Node.js notebook, Embed and Endpoint (beta, non-commercial) service.
- Null values mean unknown, not free/unlimited. No model-token cost, tax or unverified ancillary charge included.
- Native browser/device/task/credit prices with unknown CPU/RAM are deliberately non-priceable. Check regime before interpreting any partial resource estimate.
- Historic limits, from the archived official docs (Wayback 2025-10-18, not live): RunKit Endpoint was a beta. 'Requests must terminate within 60 seconds. Endpoints are rate limited, and during the beta period they are restricted to non-commercial use.' Commercial use or higher limits were by contact only. No price was ever published.

## Verified billing facts and gotchas

1. Historical acquired public Node.js notebooks. YC website tonicdev.com has expired TLS certificate; runkit.com is the current domain probe. No verified commercial CPU/RAM tariff, capacity or fleet API. Public notebook execution is not a claim of production sandbox availability.

## Worked example

Requested: 4 vCPU/8 GiB, 50 simultaneous × 8 h/day × 22 days = **8,800 instance-hours**, 30% CPU; 50 GiB snapshots and 100 GiB egress. A month is 730 hours only when explicitly used in rate conversion.

**Total: unknown.** This product does not publish a verified complete 4-vCPU/8-GiB tariff and/or the service bills a different unit. Fifty concurrent instances and eight-hour sessions are not automatically supported. Neither 30% utilization nor retained snapshots can be converted into free resources. Use the native plan terms above and request the missing CPU/RAM, retention, egress and concurrency quote.
