## Caveats

- Live pricing page (after hydration) differs from providers/rentamac.json ($3.30/day, $49/week, $99/month, taken from the vendor blog): now $19/day, $59/week, $119/month, $339/3 mo, $639/6 mo. The server-rendered HTML still shows "$99 billed monthly" before JavaScript runs.
- Same prices shown for Cyprus (EU), Texas (US) and India locations.
- A REST API exists (https://api.rentamac.io, OpenAPI spec published). It covers creating subscriptions (buy a Mac with a saved card, preferred/forced datacenter), restart, wipe, enable/disable SSH, startup scripts, cancel and reactivate, and public stock availability. Hourly subscriptions are disabled. There is no per-second or per-hour lifecycle: wiping a Mac cancels the subscription immediately and gives no refund.
- Egress / IPv4 not stated (1 Gbps connection).
- Apple macOS SLA: leasing a Mac requires a minimum lease of 24 consecutive hours with sole use by the lessee, and allows at most 2 additional macOS VMs per Mac.
- Billing periods: daily = 24 h, weekly = 7 days, monthly = 31 days. Cancelling stops renewal only; the current period is not refunded (refunds only for outages, or unused time at RentaMac's discretion). The Mac is wiped when the subscription expires, so nothing persists between rentals.
- Stale marketing pages: rentamac.io/pricing (server-rendered), /dedicated-mac/, /mac-vps/ and llms.txt still show $99/month and 'from $3.30/day'. Checkout (portal.rentamac.io) and the homepage show $119/month and 'From $3.97/day'. Use the portal numbers.
- A Yearly subscription type exists in the API (subscriptionType 5=Yearly) and the FAQ mentions 'yearly plans' (SIP customization). No yearly price is published; the volume calculator prices 12 months at the 6-month rate ($106.50 per month).

## How this provider charges

## Gotchas

1. **The research file is stale.** It had $3.30/day, $49/week and $99/month from the vendor's comparison blog. The live page (after JavaScript) shows $19/day, $59/week and $119/month. The server-rendered HTML still says "$99 billed monthly".
2. **Daily is 4.8× monthly** per day. Only use it for ≤ 6 days/month.
3. There is no API. Access is remote desktop (DeskIn) and SSH, and provisioning is by checkout.

## Worked example

Workload: 4 vCPU / 8 GiB, 50 concurrent × 8 h/day × 22 days, 50 GiB snapshots (no product), 100 GiB egress (not metered as far as published).

| Regime | Maths | Monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Daily rental per working day (engine: 1,100 × 24 h × $0.7917) | 50 × 22 × $19 | $20,900 |
| 50 × monthly (card always-on) | 50 × $119 | $5,950 |
| 50 × 6-month prepay | 50 × $106.50 | **$5,325** |
| 2 VMs per Mac: 25 × monthly (16 GB, tight) | 25 × $119 | $2,975 |
