- DIY infrastructure rather than an agent-managed sandbox: guest installation, HTTPS/domain setup, abuse controls and operations are customer responsibilities. Linux guest administrative capabilities are not preinstalled agent features. 30% guest CPU utilization does not reduce allocated-compute charges. Unknowns remain null; a partial subtotal is not a complete invoice.

- Setup fees (2026-09-28, live USD catalogue): AX42 $59, AX102 $149, AX162 $359, EX63 $84, EX131 $334 one-time per order, NOT included in the monthly total; amortized over 12 months that is +$4.92 (AX42) to +$29.92 (AX162)/month. EX44 setup unverified (not in live catalogue). "No minimum contract term" (hetzner.com EX44 page), so no commit flag.
- Hetzner changed prices repeatedly in 2026: earlier monthly and setup increases (third-party reports date one to 1 April), a further setup-fee increase announced 29 April, and on 15 June 2026 a standardisation into -1/-2/-3 types with higher monthly prices and lower setup fees. Only new orders and rescales are affected; existing contracts keep the old price. The card's numbers match the post-15-June list (e.g. AX42-1 $117.10 + $59 setup).
- Billing: hourly, partial hours rounded up, capped at the monthly price (monthly = 624 x hourly). Servers are billed while powered off until cancelled. Invoices are issued after use, with a $10/EUR 10 minimum invoice amount. Cancellation is immediate, with no minimum contract term. The one-time setup fee (0-50% of a month) is the real minimum charge per order.

Powered-off compute billed: True. A retained-host column is the always-running upper scenario when this is false; powered-off storage/IP still accrue.
Monthly caps attach to instance identities, not to a pool of replacement instances. The active-window column requires deleting/releasing billable compute between shifts for products that bill while off. Restoring from disk is not memory resume. The engine cannot perfectly model these lifecycles; see validation/estimator-gaps.md.
